Lombard Vehicle Management won another exclusive agreement with
a major housing group last month.
In a deal worth £4.5 million (€5.64 million), Lombard will
supply Walsall Housing Group with 210 Ford LCVs on a contract hire
basis over 36 months, with the option of an additional three
years.
Parts of the fleet’s racking has been refurbished and recycled,
reducing costs and environmental impact.
In addition, Lombard will also provide Walsall with four
12-tonne heavy commercial vehicles.
“Having a well maintained, green and efficient fleet of vehicles
is an important way for us to provide an efficient and responsive
service to customers,” Darren Russel, Walsall Housing Group’s fleet
manager, said.
This is Birmingham-based Lombard’s second deal with a housing
group this month, having also won a contract for over 100 vehicles
with Whitefriars Housing Group worth nearly £1.4 million over five
years.

vans, tippers, flat backs and drop side vehicles.
Separately, Lombard has also announced that it will provide
entertainment logistics specialist KB Event with a lease purchase
facility of £784,500 to allow the company to expand its existing
fleet.
During the next five years, KB Event plans to purchase an
additional 12 new heavy commercial vehicles.
This follows the news that Lombard has been appointed by Just
Car Clinics, a chain of vehicle crash repair centres, to provide
seven damaged-vehicle transporters and a 30-strong fleet for its
management.
“We have an existing relationship with Lombard Asset Finance and
it made sense to discuss our fleet requirements with LVM,”
commented Just Car Clinics MD Barry Whittles.
“They have been extremely flexible and were prepared to fund the
transporters, which would normally be outside the scope of their
offering, creating a neat one-stop solution for us.”
