Lombard, the asset finance branch of RBS, has provided funds for
a new recording studio to be built at the School of Sound Recording
in Manchester (SSR).

Over £500,000 (€560,000) in investment will go to build the
high-tech recording studio on the forth flow of the Downing Street
campus in Ardwick.

SSR director Wendy Breakell said: “Over the last few years we
have made a significant investment in our facilities and this
latest purchase is part of that ongoing strategy.”

SSR which was established 25 years ago by managing director John
Breaekell has been the used by The Smiths, Happy Mondays and The
Stone Roses amongst others. 

Lombard’s Nick Harding and Jackie Grundy arranged the funding
package.

Harding said: “SSR benefits from a strong and innovative
management team that is committed to providing students with the
best possible facilities.”
