Cameron-Pace Group, is being set up on the premise that in as
little as two years all films will be produced in 3D and 2D
versions will be extracted from that – so naturally, people will
need financing options.
What’s more, the company could be
moving into Europe as it is reportedly planning “global 3D
adoption”.
Nothing is set in stone yet and
it’s not known whether the company will partner with a specific
funder, but Basement Talk can’t help but hope for the day
when the leasing industry is studded with famous names.

On the buses
The PR agency for Lloyds TSB
Commercial Finance sent through another fairly decent little press
release, about a £40m (€45.3m) hire purchase deal with public
transport provider Stagecoach – and with it came yet another
inexplicable photo.
The text talks about brand new
vehicles, cutting carbon emissions and supplying sustainable
transport for the UK and elsewhere. The photo is of a 30-year-old
bus.
Granted, the release does make
mention of the fact that Stagecoach has been using finance from
Lloyds since 1981 – but why not include a picture of the shiny new
buses and coaches, in which the company has invested £200m in the
last three years?
Beware the future, the photo seems
to say.
Sort of a sad sentiment when you
consider the fact this bus has presumably long since been sent to
the scrap heap.
Hitachi Capital helps
humanitarian efforts for Japan
A story to warm the heart from
Hitachi Capital Commercial Vehicle Services.
The Trowbridge-based funder
revealed the humane face of leasing by donating the use of a
Vauxhall van to Caroline Pover, who is collecting supplies for the
relief effort following the tsunami and earthquake in Japan.
Pover, a UK businesswoman, is using
the van to travel all over Britain, persuading businesses, schools
and communities to donate what they can to the cause.
Harking back to its Japanese
origins, as a group, Hitachi has already donated more than $3m
(€2.1m) to the Japanese Red Cross to support the relief effort.
Keen to keep up the good work,
Hitachi Capital Commercial Vehicle Services has not stopped at
donating the van and is now exploring further fund raising
opportunities.

Services divisional managing director Jon Lawes said: “The tragedy
in Japan is close to everyone’s heart at Hitachi Capital because of
our company heritage.
“At times like this, it is important that we all rally together,
and the donation of the van to Caroline’s fantastic work is just
one of many fundraising initiatives that we will be
undertaking.”
