Fleet provider Ryder has signed a deal to provide a fleet of trucks to High Peak Steels, a Derbyshire-based steel stockholder.
High Peak Steels is a stockholder of engineering steels, both bright and black carbon, and alloy varieties. The steels are then used by clients of the business to develop products such as nuts, bolts, and gears.
The agreement with Ryder provides six Daf dropside trucks on a five year contract. High Peak Steels underwent a rebrand, redesigning its website with new branding, which will also feature on the trucks from Ryder. Ryder and High Peak Steels first began a commercial partnership five years ago.
Mark Thornley, managing director, hoped the deal with Ryder, which includes maintenance, would ensure that its trucks remain operational for High Peak’s many deliveries.
He said: “We need a vehicle supplier who can do more than simply supply the vehicles: the trucks are on the road five days a week from 6am until 5pm, so they’re repaired and maintained overnight – that flexibility is one of the reasons we wanted to stay with Ryder.”
John Murray, Ryder sales and marketing director said: “We’re delighted to further our partnership with High Peak Steels. Vehicle uptime is crucial to truck operators, especially those offering next-day services.”
