Law firm Reed Smith has added an asset finance partner to its offices in Paris.
Victoria Westcott has joined the firm’s Financial Industry Group (FIG) as project, asset and export finance partner.
She has come in from White & Case, another law firm. While there, she was a project finance partner for over ten years, as well as holding the role of head of asset finance practice in Paris. She also spent three years at White & Case’s Budapest office.
Westcott is to be joined by three other attorneys: Florent Rigaud as counsel, Elaine Porter as a senior associate and Abdullahi Mohammed as a mid-level associate.
Ed Estrada, global chair of Reed Smith’s FIG, said: “A strategic objective of our firm is to deliver a seamless international finance capability to our clients, who are often engaged in complex multi-jurisdictional transactions which require top-notch legal advice. Victoria’s appointment marks a significant step forward towards meeting our goal.”
Ana Atallah, head of Reed Smith’s transport and international trade practice in Paris and member of the firm’s Paris Council, added: “Our practice’s clients demand more from us than just legal guidance on finance matters – they also expect us to understand the intricacies of the projects that they engaged on.
