SME lender Boost Capital has appointed Alexander Littner as managing director, responsible for the strategic direction of the business in the UK.

Littner joined Boost Capital from American Express, where he was a director of global small business and corporate products.

Prior to this, Littner led a bank project at Lloyds Bank where his role spanned across all the commercial customer segments, within the UK and international markets.

In 2013, US bank Wells Fargo supplied a $82m credit line to Boost Capital’s US parent company, Business Financial Services, to allow it to target SME lending.

Marc Glazer, chief executive officer at Boost Capital, said: "Alexander brings a wealth of knowledge to Boost Capital from his experience in business development and leadership roles across many different regions and disciplines. He holds an in-depth appreciation of the needs of small business owners and has previously been a driving force in implementing change and growing businesses – it is because of these skills that he is a fantastic fit for Boost Capital. I thoroughly look forward to him driving the development of the UK business, and in turn helping UK SMEs to grow."
