Leaseurope has launched a campaign to promote the contribution of the leasing industry to European business growth.
The aim of the Leasing for Growth scheme is to explain what leasing is and how it contributes to growth, raise the industry’s visibility, ensure the "specificities of leasing and lessors" are recognised in future legislation, and improve access to funding for lessors.
Information on the campaign has been sent out to all Leaseurope member associations, with campaigning tools for members to inform policymakers, industry associations and other business organisations about the importance of leasing.
These tools include presentations tailored for different target audiences, talking points for press interviews, and truck and SME leasing segment-specific leaflets, with a car leasing version expected. Leasurope will also be releasing an animated video clip at its Annual Convention in Rome, to explain what leasing is.
The key points of the promotional material are that leasing is enabling sustainable growth by enabling business and the public sector investment, supporting SMEs, sustaining and promoting manufacturer sales, encouraging the uptake of energy efficient assets and contributing to sustainable resource use and the production of clean energy.
Jacqueline Mills, Leaseurope’s director of asset finance and research, said the campaign and toolkit are part of efforts to provide Leasurope’s member associations and the industry with "added-value content", and it’s hoped they will create "a buzz" around leasing products.
