LeasePlan has reshuffled its senior management for the United States and the United Kingdom, effective from January 1, 2019.

LeasePlan UK managing director Matt Dyer has been appointed as president and chief executive officer of LeasePlan USA, while current LeasePlan Italy managing director  Alfonso Martinez steps into Dyer’s place as managing director for the UK.

LeasePlan said that its Italy finance director Alberto Viano had been promoted to replace Martinez in that region.

Dyer has over 20 years’ experience working for LeasePlan, including over four and a half years leading the business.

The firm said during his tenure, Dyer had grown the fleet to its largest size of 185,000 and had refocused the business on the customer.

In addition, Dyer is currently chairman of the British Vehicle Rental & Leasing Association (BVRLA), playing an active role in representing the needs and challenges facing the industry in the UK.

Martínez has worked for the firm since 2006, with previous roles including chief financial officer of the Spanish business, and most recently, managing director of LeasePlan Italy – a role he has held since 2012.

It said Martínez had delivered impressive results for the Italian business and was regarded as a highly experienced and established leader. He will be working closely with Dyer over the coming months to ensure a seamless transition.
