ING Car Lease UK has named Mark Cubbon as new
director of sales as it plans to expand business and increase its
involvement in the public sector.

Cubbon, formerly head of business development
at Lex Autolease, has spent 14 years working in the vehicle leasing
sector, the last 11 holding senior management posts. He replaces
Paul Ormerod, who left the business earlier this year.

Cubbon said: “ING has enjoyed a solid period
of organic growth with a focus on customer service and value
proposition. My appointment and growth plans highlight the
commitment ING has taken in the UK to invest in developing the
business.”

In his new role, Cubbon will focus on growing
ING Car Lease’s public sector division, and further developing
areas such as fleet finance, corporate new business and salary
sacrifice schemes. In all four areas, Cubbon has growth plans in
terms of both volume and value for 2011.

He said: “Growth will be achieved by remaining
competitive while striving to deliver great service and value to
the customer. Specifically for the public sector, we have already
secured our position on the Central Buying Consortium (CBC) and
Buying Solutions Framework for another term. Although there is a
fair amount of uncertainty around public sector spending and
decision-making, it is still a huge market and one which we intend
to grow again in 2011.”

ING Car Lease currently has 49,450 vehicles
under management, of which 75 percent are cars and 25 percent are
commercial vehicles.
