Hampshire Trust Bank’s asset finance division has – following a 20-week trial – gone live with Alfa Start, a mid-tier back-office software programme by Alfa Systems.
Alfa, a global provider of software for the asset finance sector, said Alfa Start is specifically for the UK small to medium-ticket equipment finance market and is produced as a preconfigured out-of-the-box offering.
Sarah Taylor, senior project manager at Alfa, said challengers were the ideal customer: “We’re looking at small to medium-ticket asset finance providers, such as challenger banks. But Start can also be used as an accelerator for larger projects.”
Paul Bartley, managing director of asset finance at HTB, said: “Alfa Systems gives us key API capabilities not available in our legacy core banking platform that enables us to launch a wider range of new products to the market, improve speed and efficiency and offer a significantly improved service to our brokers and their customers.”
Andy Denton, chief executive for Alfa, said: “HTB and Alfa have been a great partnership and collaborating on this rapid implementation has been a joy. As a lean business and our first Alfa Start customer, we’re expecting HTB to continue to be one of the brightest challengers in the market.”
Alfa Systems launched Alfa Start earlier this month and has plans to launch the offering in other sectors later this year.
