Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) UK has been granted inclusion in the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) framework, the British government’s scheme procuring vehicles to the public sector, including emergency services.
This allows for FCA vehicles to be used as fire and rescue vehicles, ambulances, police cars. CCS also supplies cars to doctors, nurses, consultants, teachers and lecturers.
Cars such as 4x4s, commercial vehicles and people carriers also come under the CCS scheme, which allows the FCA emergency vehicles scheme to appeal to rural police forces, fire and rescue services, as well as first responders and mobile services such as forensic teams.
The FCA corporate fleet sales operation already supplies vehicles to 10 of the UK’s 13 regional NHS ambulance trusts, and is looking to expand further in this sector.
Neil McNicholl, motability and national public sector manager of FCA UK, said: “It has been a four-year process to become part of the CCS platform and a lot of work has gone into this, so we are clearly hopeful of the growth it can deliver.
“The breadth of the current FCA Group range is key to us serving the mobility needs of a range of public services – from coach-built Ducato vans for the UK ambulance trusts, to the new Jeep Compass and Renegade for rural applications, and the Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio for senior management use. We also see the Fiat Tipo as a perfect fit for doctors, nurses and first responders.”
