BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions, the leasing arm of BNP Paribas,
has completed the sale of Prague-based Fortis Lease Czech to CSI
Leasing Inc., the St Louis-based computer, communications, medical,
energy, production and equipment leasing company.

Fortis Lease Czech has been in run-off since Autumn 2009 according
to BNP Paribas and CSI Leasing has acquired it in a period of
expansion that includes opening operations in France and
Italy.

“It expands our offering and presence in the Czech market. It gives
us more resources and a wider customer base,” said Barry Naylor,
director, CSI Leasing Ltd, the company’s UK arm.

CSI Leasing already operates in 17 European nations through offices
in Sheffield, London, Madrid, Barcelona, Prague, Bratislava,
Warsaw, Oeiras, and a full-service IT company in Germany, CSI
LifeCycle Services, run with ergoTrade AG. Worldwide, it runs 23
subsidiaries in 36 countries.

“We’ve had a lot of success and grown significantly in the last
5-10 years in the international market and this complements our
strategy,” explained Naylor.

The company intends to expand its leasing business throughout
Central Eastern Europe. This purchase, terms of which have not been
disclosed, is a part of that expansion and includes the migration
of all Fortis Lease Czech employees to CSI.
