Acquis Insurance Management has launched a company in the Netherlands as part of its European expansion strategy.
According to the company the regulatory independence of Acquis B.V. means Acquis is able to provide its services across the European Economic Areas (EEA) without being impacted by the uncertainty caused by Brexit. Acquis B.V. is also part of the company’s intentions to increase its penetration of the European asset finance insurance market.
Acquis Insurance Management currently provides insurance services across 13 countries with almost half of its clients based outside of the UK. The creation of Acquis B.V. is the company’s first permanent office location in mainland Europe.
Acquis B.V. is regulated by the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) and is authorised to passport its services throughout the European Economic Area (EEA).
Acquis’s group chief executive officer, Nick Leader, said: “The creation of Acquis in the Netherlands represents a commitment to supporting our existing clients and positioning the business to meet our growth ambitions. Setting up the new business has been a great challenge and experience for all involved.
“The AFM were extremely accessible and supportive in our application for regulatory authorisation and now we have the regulatory authorisation we are fully focussed on growing the new business. These are really exciting times for Acquis and we are all looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead of us.”
