Legal firm Squire Sanders has announced Paula Laird is to become a partner in the firm along with another recruit, Philippa Chadwick.
Laird has been working as head of banking at Wragge & Co, and specialises in asset-based lending and asset finance.
Prior to joining Wragge & Co in 2000, Laird was head of legal and company secretary at Chartered Trust PLC, a subsidiary of Standard Chartered Bank, has recently advised a banking group on the £300m refinancing of a car hire operator, and also advised on the £150m ABL cross-border financing of a major wine distributor and supplier.
Chadwick, who specialises in international project finance and development bank finance, is joining Squire Sanders from Berwin Leighton Paisner, where she led the project finance team.
Andrew Knight, European head of banking and debt finance at Squire Sanders’ global financial services group, said "These significant additions deepen our expertise and will enhance our ability to offer clients sophisticated financial advice in London and across the whole of our global platform."
