AFPA Trust has postponed its Summer Sizzler event scheduled for 8 July 2021.
The news comes as the UK government announced a four-week delay to an easing of its Covid lockdown restrictions across England.
An organiser said: “We have made the sad decision to postpone the Summer Sizzler event to a new date.
“The good news is we are endeavouring to be one of the first live events when the guidelines are relaxed.”

The UK-based asset finance charity AFPA Trust has announced its first post-lockdown leasing industry networking and charity fundraiser on Thursday 8 July 2021.
“AFPA decided that the open-air yacht London on the Embankment represented the best and safest way to re-start our events season,” the Trust said in a statement.
The event represents AFPA’s first face to face gathering for over 18 months.
Entry from midday onwards will be based on pre-booked tickets only, so please visit the AFPA Trust website to reserve your place at https://www.afpatrust.com/event/afpa-trust-summer-sizzler-event/
As before tickets will include an initial drink and a burger. Please remember to renew your membership or to join AFPA Trust to benefit from discounted entry at this and future AFPA events.
From soundings, there seems strong interest in staging the event. We expect and hope that the pent-up demand will see a full turn out (Max 200 on the open deck) to network, share stories about lockdown, working from home and what hybrid working will mean in the future for Asset Finance.
We are also excited to be supporting Medical Detection Dogs once again. Only a few days ago came the very positive news that as well as Cancers the dogs can detect Covid-19 which will have many potential benefits.

Adrian Langford the chair of AFPA Trust said: “We are very much looking forward to welcoming back AFPA members and guests and raising money for such a worthy charity in these challenging times.
“We are of course following Government guidelines and taking a calculated risk that lockdown restrictions will end on 21st June.
“If we can’t go ahead on 8th July, we will rearrange and carry forward ticket purchases to a new date,” he added.
