Alphabet, the business mobility provider and fleet leasing subsidiary of BMW, posted 3% operational lease portfolio growth and customer expansion of 9% in 2018.
Order volume remained at similar levels year-on-year at around 240,000 orders. With the customer base rise, the company now represents 89,000 registered customers worldwide.
The company has expanded its portfolio of electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), growing this segment by 28% in total, compared to the previous year. In 2018, Alphabet introduced 14,000 EVs and PHEVs.
Norbert van den Eijnden, chief executive officer of Alphabet International, said: “Mobility is continuously changing and for us, it’s essential to select the right kind of mobility for each user from a growing number of possibilities. Unique and personalised mobility packages are becoming increasingly important and, with this in mind, we are aligning the future of business mobility with our clients’ needs.”
Through new international cooperation partnerships, Alphabet is now present in 28 countries worldwide. In 2018, AlphaCity, the company’s corporate car sharing system, expanded its selection of vehicles to include cars of all makes offered by Alphabet.
In January this year, Alphabet UK appointed a head of operational services.
