Societe Generale Group’s operational leasing and fleet management division ALD Automotive has appointed Kent Bjertrup as chief commercial officer.

The appointment, effective from 1 February 2016, will give Bjertrup responsibility for all of ALD Automotive group’s sales and marketing activities.

Bjertrup will become the sixth member of the company’s executive committee, alongside Mike Masterson, Pascal Serres, Tim Albertsen, Gilles Momper and John Saffrett.

Bjertrup entered ALD Automotive group following the acquisition of Axus in 2003 and held various managerial roles in a number of eastern European countries. In 2012 he was appointed as the regional director for ALD Automotive’s activities in the North East Europe Region, while in August 2014 he was additionally appointed as group country head of Societe Generale in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus and Ukraine.

Marek Malachowski, general manager of ALD Automotive Poland, will succeed Bjertrup as the regional supervisor for the North Eastern European Region. Malachowski will remain the general manager of ALD Automotive Poland.

Prior to entering the group, Malachowski held various roles at Renault SAS, including a consultant position for the automotive industry.
