365 Finance, a UK-based SME funder, has announced a 77% year-on-year increase in small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) funding in the South West of England.
Over the past three years, the number of businesses successfully applying for funding in the region has risen by 206%, with SMEs in the South West now securing, on average, 20% more in funding.
The hospitality sector has led the demand for fast and flexible finance in the region, with pubs, bars, and restaurants dominating the top five industry sectors seeking funding. Food retailers, non-food retail outlets, and MOT garages follow them.
To support this growing demand, 365 Finance has opened a new branch in Bristol, staffed by a team of five.
The company’s head office remains in Camden, London. CEO Warren Abbey noted that the decision to expand into Bristol reflects the rising demand for their revenue-based finance products in the South West. “With increasing demand in the South West, it made sense for us to establish a presence in Bristol,” Abbey said.
Chris Thorne, Strategic Partnerships Director at 365 Finance, leads the Bristol team. He highlighted Bristol’s emergence as a fintech hub as a key factor in the decision to expand there. Thorne added that he expects the Bristol team to double productivity and enable faster funding in the coming months.
