Aldermore
UK lender Aldermore has
promoted Ian Wilkins as head of its newly launched asset-based
lending division. Wilkins, who now becomes group managing director
for asset and invoice finance, previously worked for Absolute
Invoice Finance, which was acquired by Aldermore’s parent company
AnaCap in 2009.
George Ashworth will continue as managing director of Aldermore’s
asset finance division, reporting to Wilkins. Aldermore is at
present recruiting for a managing director of invoice
finance.
The UK lender has also appointed Matthew Taylor as a new regional
manager for the South East within its invoice finance business.
Taylor joins from RBS Invoice Finance, where he worked for the past
three years. He began his career in the invoice finance industry at
Venture Finance.

Deutsche Leasing
After announcing its new chief
executive Kai Ostermann in the summer, Deutsche Leasing has further
expanded its managing board with the appointments of Matthias
Laukin and Rainer Weis. Laukin is in charge of the German lessor’s
domestic distribution in SME business and IT leasing. Weis, from
the board of Lake Constance savings bank, is responsible for the
savings bank co-operation and fleet business. Professor Ruediger
von Foelkersamb, one of Europe’s most well known leasing faces, is
leaving at the end of January. Philippe De Geyter, in charge of IT
at the lessor for a number of years, has also left the
board.

Services has appointed Holly French as regional manager in the
South West. She joins from Euler Hermes, where she worked as
business development executive since 2003. She will be responsible
for expanding the company’s client base across Somerset, Devon and
Cornwall.
ECS Group
IT lessor ECS Group has boosted
its sales operation with the appointment of Matt Goddard as
strategic account manager. Goddard has more than 20 years
experience in the corporate asset finance sector, having worked for
Lombard, GMAC, Landsbanki, and most recently for Australia’s
Macquarie Bank. He had already worked for ECS nine years
ago.
Cassiopae
Asset finance software provider
Cassiopae has appointed Igor Szabados as regional business
development director. He will be responsible for business expansion
and account management for Cassiopae in Central and Eastern Europe,
Turkey and the Commonwealth of Independent States. This follows
Cassiopae’s expansion plans including launching a new office in
Budapest, which will be headed by Szabados.
Watson, Farley &
Williams
International law firm Watson,
Farley & Williams is expanding its asset finance expertise with
a number of appointments. The law firm has hired Rex Rosales and
Siva Subramaniam as partners for its rail and aviation finance
business, together with three new associates, all joining from Reed
Smith. The law firm has also appointed Andrew Baird as a partner in
its international shipping finance group in London. He joins from
Berwin Leighton Paisner and has experience in cross-border asset
finance, having advised clients including lenders, lessors and
lessees on the financing of assets such as ships, rolling stock,
commercial vehicles and construction equipment.
Microlease
Test equipment leasing company
Microlease has appointed David Knights as director of asset
management to support the business in EMEA, Asia Pacific and the
US. Knights, who joins from Agilent, where he was a director
covering major accounts in China, US and Europe, has spent most of
his career working for Hewlett Packard.
Alphabet
BMW-owned multi-marque fleet funding company Alphabet has
named Nick Butler as head of intermediary business and Jane White
as implementation manager. Butler will develop Alphabet’s
relationships with brokers and large-volume business partners. He
was previously a regional manager for BMW Corporate Finance and,
before that, worked for Renault Financial Services and Ford Credit.
White will be responsible for setting up new schemes and products.
She was previously customer retention manager for BMW Group
Financial Services.
Lex Autolease
Nigel Stead is to step down from
his role as head of Lex Autolease next June. He will be succeeded
by Rick Francis, who had been commercial director of Lex Vehicle
Leasing before the 2009 merger of its parent bank HBOS with Lloyds
Banking Group.
Although the merging of the two companies is almost complete, its
last stage – mainly the transferral of customers between CRM
systems – is to be completed as responsibility for the business is
transferred between Stead and Francis.
NACFB
The UK’s National
Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (NACFB) has strengthened
its board with the addition of Andrew Bullard, head of business at
invoice finance broker Cashflow UK. Having joined the trade body as
a patron back in 1995, Bullard in his new position will promote
invoice finance for the members of the association.
CIT Group
American SME lender CIT Group
has appointed Raymond Quinlan as executive vice-president in charge
of banking. He will report to chief executive John Thain and will
mainly work with banking regulators. Quinlan spent more than 30
years working at Citigroup.
BT Fleet
UK fleet management specialist
BT Fleet has made two senior appointments. Dave Bowen has been
promoted to managing director, after joining BT Fleet in 2009 as
finance director; and Andrew Edginton has become the new finance
director. The moves follow the departure in September 2010 of
managing director Janet Entwistle, who had been at the helm of BT
Fleet for 11 years. She is credited with turning the company from
an in-house fleet provider into a specialist fleet management firm
with a large blue-chip customer base.
