SIXT MOBILITY APPOINTS MANAGING DIRECTOR
German car leasing and hire giant Sixt has appointed a managing director of its mobility and fleet management division.
Christoph von Tschirschnitz joins Sixt Mobility from the BMW Group, where he has worked since 1992 in roles including general marketing manager for motorbike unit BMW Motorrad between 1999 and 2004, and most recently regional chief executive officer for Central and Southeastern Europe.
Von Tschirschnitz will be in charge of Sixt’s European business, and the further national and international expansion of its fleet management business.
VOLKSWAGEN FINANCIAL SERVICES UK APPOINTS CEO
Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS) UK has appointed a chief executive officer (CEO) to replace David Maloney after a 16year career with the captive.
Incoming CEO Mike Todd returns to VWFS UK following two years as country manager for Volkswagen Bank Ireland, during which he led the launch of the nation’s first full captive leasing service.

By GlobalDataHe first joined VW Group at the turn of the millennium, as general manager for Volkswagen, Audi and the commercial vehicles business. He later joined VWFS UK as head of sales, before rising to business development director and eventually chief commercial officer in 2015.
In his new position, Todd will oversee more than 1,000 staff at two sites in Milton Keynes, handling a retail relationship network comprising some 700 dealerships.
BIBBY FINANCIAL SERVICES APPOINTS HEAD OF SALES
Bibby Financial Services (BFS) has appointed a head of sales as it looks to develop SME lending in the south of England.
Joe Waters was most recently a director at Partnership Invoice Finance, and a founding director at Gener8 Finance.
He has also held roles at PwC, including client services manager. Waters’ focus at BFS will be to grow the client base in London and the South. He will operate from the company’s office in Redhill, Surrey, where he will manage a team of six.
HITACHI CAPITAL UK APPOINTS CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Hitachi Capital UK has appointed a chief operating officer, seconding chief executive Robert Gordon, to lead digital investment in its UK and European lending business. Jonathan Biggin brings to the role two decades of experience in operations oversight.
He was development director at American Express before moving to Barclays Bank, where he led technological development in retail and business banking. He comes to Hitachi Capital from almost five years as chief operating officer at credit card provider MBNA, which was acquired by Lloyds from Bank of America in 2016.
Biggin will be tasked with operational efficiency in the IT, human resources and group change departments. He will also oversee the integration of new technology and data solutions across the business.
BNP PARIBAS APPOINTS UK HEAD FOR COMMERCIAL VEHICLE LEASING
BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions has appointed a UK head of Rental Solutions, the lessor’s unit for commercial vehicle leasing. Benoit Laflamme takes over from Ian Barker, who was appointed to the role in February last year.
He joins the business from Element Fleet Management in Paris, where he was vice-president for global business development, leading the Canadian lessor’s expansion abroad.
Laflamme spent most of his career in his native Canada, handling Element’s client
relations between 2012 and 2015, and working at Volvo Financial Services and GE Capital before that. As head of Rental Solutions in the UK, he will be in charge of enhancing digital tools and introducing new products such as ‘total fleet management’.
TOYOTA MATERIAL HANDLING DEUTSCHLAND APPOINTS MANAGING DIRECTOR
Toyota Material Handling Europe has appointed a managing director for Toyota Material Handling Deutschland.
Hamburg-born Jan Lorenz, aged 45, was UK managing director for materialshandling manufacturer Jungheinrich, but is returning to Germany to work for Toyota.
He has held senior positions for Jungheinrich in the US, where he developed a dealer network, and later was in charge of the direct sales organisation before returning to Germany as vicepresident – regional sales and marketing. He moved to the UK in 2014 to take up his most recent position as managing director.
INVIGORS APPOINTS SENIOR CONSULTANT IN THE NETHERLANDS
Asset finance consultancy Invigors has appointed a senior consultant in the Netherlands.
Frans Jansen joins Invigors from his role as vice-president of Doosan Infracore Financial Solutions, where he managed a specialist team operating a ‘virtual captive’, handling back-end functions for funders in 26 countries.
Prior to this, Jansen was managing director at consultancy Leasing Services, and managing director at Siemens Financial Services.
