Close Brothers Business Finance appoints sales director
Finance broker funding provider Close Brothers Business Finance has appointed a national sales director.
David Forbes is an internal appointment, who has spent close to four years in a similar role in the asset finance business.
Forbes began his career as part of the Yorkshire Bank graduate programme before moving into FMCG sales and a career at Mars UK. He joined Lombard in 1999, and spent 16 years in leadership roles in a variety of asset finance divisions.
STB Commercial Finance adds Midlands ABL director
Secure Trust Bank Commercial Finance has added to its team in the Midlands with the appointment of Matt Broomfield as regional sales director.
Broomfield has 13 years’ experience in the business lending market, having previously worked in the asset-based lending departments of major UK banks such as RBS and HSBC. He has developed knowledge of the Midlands market specifically, where he has been based throughout his career.

Typical scenarios will include service-led refinances, private equity transactions, restructures and turnaround, as well as growth opportunities.
Broomfield will join the Midlands-based team headed by regional managing director David Parsons.
Former Volvo Financial Services MD joins Invigors
Asset finance provider Invigors has appointed a UK-based associate.
Invigors, the European arm of the Alta Group, has appointed Tor Bowen, formerly managing director Australasia at Volvo Financial Services.
With a career focused on vehicle finance and restructuring, Bowen has over 35 years’ experience in asset finance. At Volvo, Bowen founded Volvo Finance Australia, set up financial programmes in Asia, and established a dedicated bus and coach finance operation for Volvo Bus Corporation in North America.
White Clarke Group appoints business development director
White Clarke Group has appointed a figure with over 20 years of leasing experience to the position of business development director for German-speaking Europe.
Hannes Muller will be responsible for sales, customer relationship management and business growth in Germany, Austria and Switzerland to support the company’s growth plans in the region.
Since completing a degree in law and an MBA in general management, Muller has gained extensive leasing industry experience. Previous positions include head of operations at Masterlease Austria, head of vehicle competence at UniCredit Leasing, and head of international vendor business, passenger cars, at VB Leasing International.
Before joining White Clarke Group, Muller was head of sales and marketing at Société Générale Equipment Leasing for four years, where he was responsible for product marketing and business development.
Alphabet appoints two to senior management roles
Vehicle lessor Alphabet has appointed Miles Tetlow as head of contract management and Hannah Broad as head of collections.
Tetlow, who has worked for Alphabet since 2012, moves from his previous role as head of collections to oversee the company’s contract servicing operations and ‘in life’ customer care.
Broad has been promoted from her previous role as collections manager, which she has held since 2016. As head of collections, she will work with Alphabet’s collection systems and tools while managing the company’s receivables function.
IGF appoints regional Asset-based Lending director
Commercial finance provider Independent Growth Finance (IGF) has appointed an asset-based lending director for the UK’s Thames Valley region.
Having worked in the finance industry since 2001, Dave Pickup focuses on improving SME cash flow through alternative funding. This includes the provision of facilities for start-up finance, management buy-outs and acquisitions, as well as general working capital.
Pickup joins IGF from RBS, where he was business development manager for over four years. Prior to this, he headed up the Thames Valley SME invoice finance team at Metro Bank.
Other previous roles include regional sales director at Close Brothers Invoice Finance, and business development manager at Barclays Sales Finance.
ABN Amro Commercial Finance appoints UK head of sales
ABN Amro Commercial Finance has appointed a head of sales, following a similar appointment to the bank’s UK leasing wing.
Jeremy Harrison has been given the sales role, and will lead an origination team focusing on mid-market, corporate and international businesses with financing needs in the UK and Europe.
Harrison will report directly to commercial director Deborah Bell, and will liaise closely with the head of sales for ABN Amro Lease UK, Gareth Stockton, as the two business lines support mutual clients for ABN Amro Asset Based Finance.
