Steve Box, managing director of HSBC Invoice
Finance, has been appointed head the Asset Based Finance
Association (ABFA).

Box replaces Maurice Craft, managing director
of Regency Factors, who held the position for a year.

Box said said: “I look forward to steering the
industry during these challenging times, although it’s also
heartening to see the latest stats show our overall lending has
increased.”

He has also been appointed joint head HSBC’s
invoice and equipment finance businesses in the UK and will now
take responsibility for both units in a structural shift aimed at
streamlining the business. Richard Carter remains in his position
as head of equipment finance in the UK.

A spokeswoman for HSBC said: “The two
departments are still separate but there’s one overall head.

“It’s an internal move where people are
reporting to one person. Steve can make sure we’re servicing
customers in the best way possible.”
