Fleet provider Ryder has begun to deliver 127 vehicles to Safetykleen as part of a contract to run its fleet management and services.
Safetykleen provides parts washing, surface treatment, and chemical application services to the transport and construction sectors, and has 20 UK sites.
The contract requires Ryder to purchase the 127-strong fleet consisting of tractors, rigids, tonners, and vans from the old providers and lease them back to Safetykleen.
Having delivered the first batch of replacement vehicles, Ryder expect full fleet replacement in early 2017.
As part of the agreement, Ryder reviewed the locations and capabilities of Safetykleen’s suppliers to focus on out-of-hours servicing, warranty repairs, and breakdown support.
Ryder agreed to maintain the vehicles when not in use, in partnership with approved maintenance partners.
