A team from asset finance recruitment firm New
Leaf Search will run a half-marathon in aid of Cancer Research UK
next month.
New Leaf decided earlier in the year to
organise a team event to raise money for charity and found choosing
which charity was an easy decision, the firm said.

A spokesperson for the New Leaf Search team
said: “Each of us have loved ones that are or have been affected by
cancer – so the work conducted by Cancer Research UK is close to
our hearts and an ideal fundraising choice.”
A harder decision came when choosing which
event, with the team ruling out head shaving, sky diving
and desert trekking, before deciding to take part in
October’s half marathon event in London’s Royal
Parks.
As none of the team has ran a significant
distance in an organised race before, the spokesperson described
the event as a “tough ask” for the group but
said the New Leaf runners had been training hard several times
a week and are motivated by raising money for their
chosen charity.
All donations will be “gratefully received”
and can be given via the Virgin
money giving website.
