Bibby Financial Services (BFS) has appointed Edward Winterton as UK chief executive officer. The move follows BFS’ restructure of its executive committee last week, which saw the departure of Steve Box, former international chief executive.
Winterton joined BFS in 1996, and has held a variety of posts in operations and sales, most recently as UK commercial director. He will also join the global board, and lead the funder’s 800 UK staff.
Winterton said: “We have grown significantly over recent years and this has enabled us to expand our production portfolio to support more SMEs, whatever their requirements.”
BFS securitised its loanbook in 2015, and said that it now plans to extend it for a further three years. Winterton added: “Our renewed securitisation facility will enhance our funding support further for businesses trading in the UK as well as those selling to overseas markets.”
David Postings, global chief executive officer at BFS, said: “I have worked with Edward for five years. His knowledge, experience and tenacity are a huge benefit to BFS and I am confident that under his leadership, our UK business will continue to grow and flourish.”
