European leasing professionals will meet in
Miami next month to discuss opportunities and challenges in the
Latin American leasing market.
The annual
IX Latin American Leasing Conference on 17-18 October will be
held at the Hotel Intercontinental Doral in Miami, America.

The conference, sponsored by The Alta
Group Latin American Region (LAR), will discuss topics including
the future of leasing in Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Colombia,
Argentina, Peru and Central America; “regulatory challenges”
including Basel III; the implications of accounting changes for
leasing; and technological developments such as cloud
computing.
Rafael Castillo-Triana, chief executive
officer The Alta Group Latin American Region (LAR), said that
although the region has been affected by the downturn in the global
economy it was still one of the world’s fastest growing regions for
equipment leasing and finance and had “huge underexploited
opportunities to invest in energy, transportation and
telecommunications.”
