Industrial plant and equipment auctioneer Euro
Auctions has expanded its operation with a site in Brisbane,
Australia.
The Northern Ireland-based auctioneer, which
sells used equipment including ex-lease, will open its first
operation in the southern hemisphere at the beginning of next
year.
Euro Auctions, the largest UK-headquartered
auctioneer of construction plant and industrial equipment, also has
sites in Leeds in the UK, Dormagen in Germany and opened a site in
Valencia, Spain a year ago.
The latest expansion was in reponse to “the
bouyancy” of the Pacific Rim economies and an increase in demand
for equipment, plant and machinery from the Australiasian region,
according to the company’s management.
Consumer demand for better links between
Europe and the Australasian market and strong demand for plant and
equipment from the Australian mining sector, which is
benefiting from strong trade in raw materials with the Far East and
China in particular, were also identified as factors.
Jonnie Keys, general manager at Euro Auctions,
said: “Euro Auctions has a strong international seller and buyer
base, with an existing contingency of customers in the Far East who
consign to other Euro Auctions sales and will consign to the new
auction facility in Brisbane.
