Fleet Friday: Ryder Europe, Hitachi, Mazda
Ryder Europe extends signs further fleet deal with UK food firm, Hitachi extends deal with utility company and Mazda brings its fleet communication to the digital age. Commercial fleet leasing firm Ryder Europe has agreed a continuation of its 25-year partnership with food producer Greencore in the UK with a deal to replace the firms tractor and trailer fleet.
NACFB capital move
The National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (NACFB), the UK trade body for business finance brokers, has invited members to view its new London offices at the end of September. The moving of all office operations and belongings from Exeter to new headquarters at Hamilton House, London, was on track, according to a NACFB statement. Although Adam Tyler, chief executive of the NACFB admitted the transition had been quite a challenge, the Hamilton House offices are already open and should be fully functional in the not too distant future

Third of UK SMEs missing crucial funds – Bibby
Almost one-in-three SMEs in the UK has failed to obtain external funding in the past 12 months according to independent UK-based invoice finance firm Bibby Financial Services. The survey of 1,000 SMEs reported 32% of firms which had applied for external funds in the past year had not secured finance while 19% had only raised a level of capital insufficient to invest
US equipment finance dips from June high
New business volume for the US equipment finance market in July increased $900m (716m) year-on-year, according to the countrys Equipment Leasing and Finance Association.

Singers helps Shawbrook break even early
The acquisition of Singers Asset Finance has helped Shawbrook, the lending bank backed in part by RBS Equity Finance, to break even 16 months after it launched. The bank, rebranded from Whiteaway Laidlaw after the purchase of secured lender Link Loans, was opened in October 2011 with the aim of lending £250m to UK SMEs in its first year and now holds loan assets of £600m across 18,000 loan customers
