Irish Life to sell leasing and loan books
There are reports the two could be sold separately with the car loan book worth 500m, spread across loans of a minimum 4,000, and the leasing operation worth 100m, financing agricultural machinery to farmers, local authorities, landscape gardeners and sports clubs The move comes as IL&P seeks to separate its insurance and banking business by the end of the first quarter of 2012.
FLA welcomes Osborne’s autumn statement
The Finance and Leasing Association (FLA) says it is pleased with Chancellor George Osbornes autumn statement, and has announced a scheme run in cooperation with the government to make additional finance available to businesses using asset finance delivery channels. The FLA commended the governments pledge known as credit easing to underwrite bank loans to small businesses, aimed at lowering the cost of borrowing, and the initial availability of £1bn through the Business Finance Partnership

BMW ‘rapid growth’ in Q3

White Clarke Groups (WCG) CALMS2 dealer front end system has been chosen by a leading US-based automotive finance company to be used in eight countries. The SAP-compliant contract management system, which works with existing underwriting and payout and activation systems and already supports 300,000 contracts, will be launched in the UK by the end of 2011 and is already in use in Brazil
Evidence of the franchise effect: CSI Leasing buys Fortis Lease Czech
BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions, the leasing arm of BNP Paribas, has completed the sale of Prague-based Fortis Lease Czech to CSI Leasing Inc., the St Louis-based computer, communications, medical, energy, production and equipment leasing company.Fortis Lease Czech has been in run-off since Autumn 2009 according to BNP Paribas and CSI Leasing has acquired it in a period of expansion that includes opening operations in France and Italy.
BNP Paribas helps SAP to offer software financing
Halfway through a competitive software finance promotion in partnership with BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions (BPLS), computing giant SAP has reported robust sales in the UK under the scheme. SAP is in the process of driving the deal to market through their resellers though financing will be available both through them and SAP directly until 16 December and will centre on the offer of not having to pay until next year.
