Socit Gnrale has denied a report from La Lettre de L’Expansion that it is considering the sale of its Franfinance leasing unit. Earlier in the week L’Expansion reported that Socit Gnrale, the French bank, was considering selling its leasing division Franfinance
Romanian vehicle market could grow by 50%
The Romanian car and commercial vehicle management and operating lease markets could grow up to 50 percent, according to Fleet Management Services executive director Daniel Ivan. Ivan believes the market could expand by half to reach 30,000 vehicles this year, due to clients need for liquidity and the rising demand for sale and leaseback; and to 100,000 vehicles in the next two to three years.
BPLG announces European partnership with software maker Autodesk
BNP Paribas Lease Group (BPLG) has announced a new financing partnership with design and engineering software maker Autodesk. The partnership, which went live at the start of June, was tailored to help professionals in the industry, construction and animation sectors to afford Autodesks 2D and 3D technology, including the industry-leading design programme AutoCAD.

LeasePlan aims to raise ?1.5bn through online retail bank
International car lessor LeasePlan has announced plans to raise 1.5 billion with the launch of its online retail bank. The Dutch lessors CFO, Guus Stoelinga, also told Dutch TV channel RTL-Z that the company expects that it will need to borrow more money through government guarantees.
De Lage Landen launches 0% financing scheme with Samsung in the UK
De Lage Landen has partnered with Samsung to launch a zero percent financing scheme for the manufacturer’s business-focused printer portfolio in the UK. The Dutch lessor launched the offer with participating Samsung resellers in the UK and Ireland at the start of June, and Samsung plans to roll it out to more European countries soon.

KPMG: 42% of UK plc confident about the future
Over half of UK plc considers the UK economic outlook to be bad, although 42 percent of business leaders said they were confident about their prospects, according to a new study by KPMG, the accountancy firm. KPMGs National Business Confidence Survey added that the mood of British businesses has lifted from the rock bottom reached last spring. In fact, levels of confidence among senior executives about their business prospects are the highest since spring 2008, despite an increase in the number facing financial difficulty, said the firm.

IBM Global Financing making $2bn worth of finance available to Europe
IBM Global Financing has announced that it is making $2 billion (1.4 billion) available to finance IT initiatives in key economic stimulus projects throughout Europe, as well as another $1 billion in the Asia-Pacific region.
