International asset consultants Charterfields have appointed two new valuers to their Manchester team. Declan Kilbride joins the firm from Edward Symmons with over 20 years experience of valuations and specialises in valuations of plant, machinery and inventory for asset-based lenders.

Two new recruits for Kennet
UK broker Kennet Equipment Leasing has recruited two new people to its sales team, taking its staff total beyond 40. The Coleshill-based company has appointed Jonathan Hall, aged 37 and with more than seven years of industry experience, to a sales development role. 34-year-old Darren Palmer, a former freelance broker with over ten years experience in asset finance, also joins as an account manager
GE Capital signs £20m solar panel deal
GE Capital has financed a £20m (23m) deal with UK free solar panel installer A Shade Greener for the installation of solar panels on 2,000 homes. The financing will help the Yorkshire-based company toexpand its solar installations in the Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire regions.

Polish leasing sees rise in number of assets
The total number of assets financed by leasing companies in Poland increased by 27% year-on-year in the first half of 2011, according to the Polish leasing association ZPL. Compared to some other Eastern European countries which are still struggling to see growth after the recession, the value of the Polish leasing market has increased every year since the 30% decline between 2008 and 2009.
Touax’s revenue increases but net income drops
Despite a revenue increase of 4%, profits were down 5% from 8m to 7.6m and net income decreased by 0.6m to 5.7m compared to June 2010, according to a company statement. The Paris-based lessor explained the drop in net income was due to an increase in financial charges linked to the financing of new investments and to a rise in income tax.
Deutsche Bank finances solar power plants
Deutsche Banks asset finance and leasing business has had a role in financing the construction of two solar power plant parks in Italy and Spain The installation will be able to generate 65 million kWh of power, which is enough to supply 14,700 four-person households with renewable energy, said Deutsche Bank in a statement
