SMEs ‘not investing in green agenda’
The proportion of SMEs in the UK doing little or nothing to reduce carbon emissions rose 23% between 2007 and 2009, according to a survey commissioned by GE Capital. The surveys findings showed that, of the 500 ownermanagers of SMEs interviewed, just 9% are putting a significant amount of investment into shrinking emissions in the aftermath of the recession.
VTB Leasing releases unaudited Q1 results
Revenue generated by core operations totalled 2.7 billion rubles (70.6 million) in the first quarter of 2010, while net profit was 283.3 million rubles. The companys equity reached 9.8 billion and net investment in leasing as of 31 March was 83 billion rubles, or 2.1 billion rubles more than at 31 December, 2009.
Scrap tax disc,’ says BVRLA
The British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA) has call on new chancellor George Osborne to scrap the tax disc and permit the purchase of multi-year Vehicle Excise Duty (VED).
Deutsche Leasing to remain steady in Spain and Portugal
Deutsche Leasing is expecting its business in Spain and Portugal in the fiscal year 20092010, ending September 30, to stay at about the same level as the previous year, it has been reported. Spanish business is predicted to generate 100 million again, while activities in Portugal are expected to rise slightly to 20 million from 18 million. CEO Hans-Michael Heitmueller is said to have stated that the companys business outside Germany could post profits pushing into hundreds of millions of Euros.
HP FS signs global deal with Omnicom
HP Financial Services (HP FS) has today announced it has signed an agreement with marketing and communications company Omnicom. HP FS will now provide IT leasing services to Omnicom brands globally in a deal valued at up to $25 million (20 million) a year.

Bank VTB Armenia to join VTB Leasing ‘in a month’
Bank VTB Armenia is to merge with VTB Leasing within a month, it has been reported. Mher Grigorian, deputy CEO of Bank VTB Armenia, is said to have made the announcement that the bank will handle all transactions Russian lessor VTB was planning to carry out in Armenia at a news conference this month.
GE signs £4.5m deal with chemical company
GE Capital has signed to provide a £4.5million (5.4million) credit facility to a Middlesbrough-based chemical company. The facility, to be provided to FPCi Plc, the holding company for Fine & Performance Chemicals, is to take the form of confidential invoice discounting. GE has said it is expected to provide up to £18 million a year of working capital to FPCi, in volume terms, over the course of the three-year contract
Porterbrook ‘saves European company bond sales’
UK rolling stock lessor Porterbrook Rail has offered £520 million pounds (628 million) of bonds to investors today (4 June), bringing total corporate bond sales in Europe to 2.8 billion this week, according to reports Prior to this, deals from Air Liquide, the worlds largest producer of industrial gases, and state owned German rail company Deutsche Bahn, on 2 and 3 June, had failed to keep issuance from heading towards a total short of 2.1 billion.

IT lessor CSI Leasing is to work in collaboration with Psion Teklogix, the handheld computer products manufacturer, to provide lease finance to Psions customers CSI will offer financing to Psions clients in industrial business to business markets across the UK for the whole product range The lessor is to provide secure financing, backed by more than £802 million in company assets, for IT leasing contracts to Psions numerous UK resellers.
