The Asset Finance Professionals Association (AF-PA) collected £12,000 (€14,085) for charity at its Christmas business networking drinks in December 2016, exceeding £100,000 in funds raised since its formation five years earlier.
Peter McDonnell, a founder of AF-PA, presented the £12,000 to the Medical Detection Dogs charity and Friends of Royal Hospital Bath, the latter of which counts former GE Capital Equipment Finance operations director Stephen Grey as its representatives.
AF-PA welcomed patrons and industry leaders including Mistry, partner at Grant Thornton, and Paul Bartley, director at Close Leasing, and held a strategy away day at the end of January.
Johnnie Halliday, AF-PA chair and director of sales – lending and leasing at Linedata, said: “For AF-PA volunteers the strategy day allowed us to challenge where our focus should be in future.
“We will be sending out a survey to our members to ask for their input and look forward to improving our website too. AF-PA has started by adapting our mission statement.”
