Hampshire Trust Bank has appointed Nicola Fernandez (née Brown) as business development manager to its asset finance team.

Fernandez, who is based in Exmouth, Devon, will focus on maintaining and building broker relationships across South West England and Wales.

Hampshire Trust Bank’s asset finance team has a network of business development managers across the UK to provide additional support to the brokers it works with.

Vincenzo Scalzone, head of broker at Hampshire Trust Bank, said: “This appointment is part of a wider strategy. We have introduced a brand new senior team, made a number of strategic hires to support our brokers on the ground, launched a web portal and app and much more, with plenty more enhancements planned for the year ahead.”

Prior to joining Hampshire Trust Bank, Fernandez worked at GE Capital. Talking about why she decided to join Hampshire Trust Bank, she said: “On my return to work from maternity leave, I was looking for a new challenge and a place I could make a difference and help support a growing company.

“Hampshire Trust Bank is on a journey and what drew me to the bank and the opportunity was the ability to be a part of influencing and shaping how a company supports the broker market. With exciting new developments and a change in market for me, 2018 will be a one of learning, challenges and opportunities.”
