Leaseurope has released its ranking
of the top European leasing companies for 2009, with some notable
changes to the top 10.
UniCredit Leasing lost its 2008
number one ranking in terms of new business in Europe, dropping to
fourth place in the table.
BNP Paribas Equipment Solutions
took the top spot, with about €12.5bn of new business written in
Europe in 2009, while SG Equipment Finance moved up to second place
and Deutsche Leasing came in third.
The list lacked a significant UK
presence, as Lombard North Central lost its sixth place spot to
Crédit Agricole Leasing, and only Lloyds TSB Asset Finance made the
list at all, coming in 11th.
This year, 110 companies responded
to the survey, up from 106 in 2008, but down from a total of 123 in
2007 and 207 in 2006.
Parent and stand-alone companies in
the survey for 2009 reported new leasing volumes of more than
€122bn between them.
