International law firm Watson, Farley &
Williams (WFW) has expanded its asset finance expertise with a
number of key appointments.
Rex Rosales and Siva Subramaniam have been
hired as partners for its transportation finance business, together
with three new associates, all joining from Reed Smith.
Rosales, who has experience in rail and
aviation finance, has represented banks and leasing companies in a
wide range of asset-based financing structures. Subramaniam,
previously a partner at Reed Smith, also has experience in big
ticket leasing transactions.
The new team, also including solicitors
Jahnavi Ramachandran, Karina Oates and Andrew Harper, will be based
in the firm’s London office and complement the existing asset
finance practice.
Earlier this month, the law firm appointed
Andrew Baird as a partner in its international shipping finance
group in London.
Baird, previously a partner at Berwin Leighton
Paisner, has a lot of experience in cross-border asset finance.,
and has advised a wide range of clients including lenders, lessors
and lessees on the financing of assets such as ships, rolling
stock, commercial vehicles and construction equipment.

that the appointments strengthen relationships with a number of
financial institutions and offer “tremendous scope for development
in our offices in Europe, Asia and the USA.”
WFW has in the past advised the likes of
Lloyds TSB Structured Asset Finance, De Lage Landen, CIT Group and
HSBC.
The asset finance division is headed by James
Watters.
