Nexus Business
Solutions, part of lease software specialist White Clarke Group,
has appointed Pamela Halliday as UK sales director
of Nexus Automotive, as part of its growth plans in the UK and
Western Europe. Halliday has 22 years’ experience in the fleet
industry, most recently as new business sales director at Arval.
Before that, she worked with GE.
Fleet Logistics
Martin Hill has
joined Fleet Logistics as head of UK operations, from Lex
Autolease, where he was head of corporate customer services. He
will run Fleet Logistics’ UK business, which manages 15,000
vehicles on behalf of corporate clients and will be responsible for
all aspects of client services, partner and supplier relationships
and business development. Hill succeeds Martyn
Gallop, who is taking up a wider European implementation
role, working with some of Fleet Logistics’ largest fleet customers
to help implement fleet strategy and policies.

UK finance house and brokerage Henry
Howard Finance has made two new appointments with immediate effect:
Jason Davies has been named operations director;
and David Cooper becomes sales director. Both
positions are expected to significantly contribute to the growth
and expansion of the business.
ING Car Lease
ING Car Lease UK has named
Mark Cubbon as director of sales. Cubbon, formerly
head of business development at Lex Autolease, has spent 14 years
working in the vehicle leasing sector – the last 11 holding senior
management posts. He replaces Paul Ormerod, who left the business
earlier this year. In his new role, Cubbon will focus on growing
ING Car Lease’s public sector division, and further developing
areas such as fleet finance, corporate new business and salary
sacrifice schemes.
Siemens Financial

Siemens
Financial Services has appointed Julian Hobbs as
director of business development for its UK and Nordics businesses.
Hobbs has more than 20 years’ industry experience, most recently as
managing director at Deutsche Leasing UK and Ireland. He will be
responsible for business expansion both in new markets and existing
business areas.
IAA-Advisory
John Batty has joined
the board of IAA-Advisory. A former senior risk manager at GE
Capital Europe, he was responsible for credit policy, credit
underwriting, pan-European operations, and credit and risk
assessment on mergers and acquisitions. During the 1980s, Batty
worked for Continental Bank in Greece, focusing on shipping finance
and asset-based lending. He has since held many senior roles in
leasing and asset finance in the US, Europe and Asia.
Shoosmiths
UK law firm Shoosmiths has taken on
Melanie Chell as new partner to lead its asset
finance fraud practice. Chell, previously at HBJ Gateley Wareing’s
Leicester office as a banking and asset finance litigation partner,
will provide her expertise to motor and asset finance clients. Her
role will include working on complex fraud cases for existing
clients. Chell, a former Shoosmiths trainee, has also worked for
Lester Aldridge in Milton Keynes.
The Alta Group
Global lease consultancy The Alta
Group has made four new appointments in its US business.
Paul Frechette joins as managing director. He has
worked for more than 30 years in leasing, with expertise in vendor
and captive finance programmes globally. His previous experiences
include roles at Sun Microsystems, Key Equipment Finance, Heller
Financial and US Leasing International.
Valerie Gerard joins as director. She has more
than 25 years’ experience in financial services, having worked for
companies including CIT Group, Cable & Wireless, and Dow Jones
& Company.
Jim Billings and Chuck Thomas
join as consultants. Billings joins from Kropschot Financial
Services, where he was executive vice-president. Thomas, with
experience in IBM Global Financing, will work with Frechette in
vendor and captive finance.
UniCredit Leasing
UniCredit Leasing
has appointed two new CEOs for its Croatian and Slovakian
subsidiaries, both coming from the UniCredit bank network.
Eugen Paic-Karega will run UniCredit Leasing
Croatia. He replaces Luca Ziero, who has been
promoted to regional manager responsible for business operations in
Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Paic-Karega
previously was head of personal finance at Zagrebacka Banka,
Croatia’s largest bank, and also part of the UniCredit Group.
Jakub Dusílek is the new CEO of UniCredit Leasing
Slovakia. He replaces Jirí Matula, who has been promoted to
regional manager responsible for commercial coordination of
Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
In his most recent role, Dusílek was head of strategic business
development projects at the Czech arm of UniCredit Bank. He joined
UniCredit in 2003.
The managerial team supporting Dusílek includes Angeline
Michelle Koch as chief financial officer.
Arval
Arval UK has appointed Bart
Beckers, ex-LeasePlan France chairman, as its new chief
executive. Beckers replaces Jean-Marc Torre, who has been at the
helm of the BNP Paribas-owned fleet leasing company for the past
five years. Beckers spent 15 years with LeasePlan, holding a number
of senior positions across Europe. Torre left Arval UK at the end
of February to join Bank of the West, also owned by BNP
Paribas.
Cisco Capital
Cisco Capital has appointed
Sven Jirgal as area director of European markets.
Jirgal will be responsible for Cisco Capital’s sales activity
across Europe and will be based in Geneva, Switzerland. Prior to
joining Cisco, he was commercial director at GE Capital UK in
charge of leasing, car fleet and corporate lending sales.
Prior to that, Jirgal created and directed Agilent Financial
Services for Europe and Asia-Pacific until it was sold to CIT in
2000, when he joined CIT as president of Agilent Financial
Services.
