Fleet lessor Alphabet has expanded its extended rental fleet AlphaRent by 25% to over 1,100 vehicles, ahead of the ‘traditional Christmas getaway’.

Over the past few weeks Alphabet has taken delivery of over 250 new vehicles across a range of marques, including the Infiniti Q50, the Volkswagen (VW) CC, VW Passat and the Peugeot 308.

These vehicles have been added to the existing fleet of nearly 900 AlphaRent+ vehicles, which has more than doubled in size since this time last year.

Kit Wisdom, head of corporate mobility at Alphabet, said: "The pre-Christmas and New Year getaway is one of the busiest times of the year for customers with short to medium term vehicle requirements. Added to this you have the demand for vehicles for new employees starting in January and customers awaiting vehicle deliveries in the New Year.

"Often at this time people need a vehicle for a longer time period than would be suitable for a daily rental solution as they may be making the most of the festive season visiting friends and family or taking an extended break. This is why we have increased our AlphaRent+ fleet significantly over recent weeks in line with the general growth trend this year.

"This year we’ve seen customers in the Corporate, SME and Public Sector really appreciate the flexible, cost effective mid-term mobility that AlphaRent+ offers. While their drivers appreciate a more hassle-free experience, greater choice, more guaranteed make and model as well as better specification of vehicle for business needs."
